iOS wake me up at all costs
Whatever it takes
The night before last, I was up pretty late prepping design work for my agency plus generating creative assets for Config. Yesterday was a big day with all the product features they announced, but hey, this is a newsletter about satirical UI, not a Figma product update.
Since I worked til 4, I only slept about 3 hours and my 7 am alarm was quite painful. I did make it out of bed and to the conference on time, but it was a struggle.
When I have a super important date I need to wake up for, I typically set at least 2 or 3 concurrent alarms to go off every minute until I wake up. This strategy is effective, but time-consuming to set up.
This got me thinking… what if there was a feature to “wake me up at all costs”? You could imagine iOS using punitive measures such as calling or texting friends, requiring a call with support, or some other mechanisms to promote prompt wake-up times.
This would be quite chaotic when you wake up, but I think this might be a good way to meet an important need (waking up when you don’t want to).
