LinkedIn "employment verification"
Did you quit or get fired?
Happy Thursday all.
For some reason, in like 2011 society collectively accepted the fact that LinkedIn is the de-facto resume platform. Maybe this will change one day, but to day is not that day.
A persistent problem when using a platform like LinkedIn is verifying employment status and someone's overall career journey.
At the end of the day, people are people, and there will typically be two sides to a story when it comes to leaving a job or taking a new one. However, what if there was a way to verify whether you quit or were actually laid off?
Coworkers could verify whether an update is true or not, and the update would get surfaced either way 😈
Realistically, not having a punitive angle, but still showing when a position is "verified" would actually be useful. Wonder if it will ever get implemented...
