LinkedIn Messaging IQ Limit
A new type of skill assessment
LinkedIn is weird. Sometimes it feels like there are 10 people posting content and everyone else is just reacting to people who are absolutely unhinged on the app. That said, I have to tip my hat to their team, as they built a social product on top of a hiring platform. No one has been able to dethrone them.
Recently, there’s been an uptick in scams and bots in LinkedIn DMs (please tell me I’m not the only one experiencing this).
This got me thinking about how LinkedIn gates outbound messages to strangers by paywalling it behind Premium and InMail. What if there was a way to be more aggressive though?
Imagine you could arbitrarily set an IQ limit for people to message you.
The most probable outcome is that no one would message you if you enabled this. On the flip side, LinkedIn games is relatively nascent, so they might be able to architect the collection of IQ into seemingly innocuous daily games (wait a minute… is that their strategy?).
This would be more annoying than anything, but still, interesting.
