LinkedIn Nepotism Warning
For businesses that keep it all in the family
Happy Thursday everyone.
At some point n your life, you've likely dealt with someone in a position of wealth or power who feels like they benefited more from nepotism than their own skill or ability. For better or worse, nepotism isn't going anywhere. I've personally witnessed executives bring in family members or friends into roles other people worked for years to get.
However, this newsletter doesn't do deep dives on issues like this. Instead, let's focus on how we might make nepotism more transparent to the average person. Introducing the LinkedIn nepotism warning.
On someone's profile, you could see a brief disclosure about the relationship and how the individual benefitted from nepotism specifically. Better yet, there should be a way to turn this off with LinkedIn Premium.
A feature like this would be extremely eye-opening.
