LinkedIn see how many hours they work a day

Measuring productivity is difficult. In my early career, I had to track hours religiously. It’s interesting, now as a senior I’m skeptical at times whether or not it’s worth me tracking my hours. Ironically, I’ve never been more convinced of hourly tracking on a company level. Yes, this varies a lot by the type of business you’re in, but in services land this is a pretty important thing to get a hold on.

This gets me thinking about platforms like LinkedIn and the visibility it gives into overall career arc. What if it gave more granular metrics, like how many hours you worked in a day? I can imagine how irate (and exposed) people would be were something like this to get built.

There’s no real reason for LinkedIn (or any platform) to do this, but doing it as a bit or even an April Fools Day piece would be pretty entertaining.
