LinkedIn show user height

Sometimes intrusive thoughts pop into my head and I just have to visualize them. Today is one of those days. In design and development, there’s this idea of “collapsing the height” of an element. On a walk I wondered what it would look like for this to be related to actual height of people and this concept was born.

The idea is pretty simple, there’d be some sort of icon to show height, and when you click on it it expands to show the full body and height of the person. There’s no utility to this, but it’s an insane visual and would be fun to implement as a bit. However, this would lead to a massive shift in how people take profile pictures if more than just a cropped head needed to be shown.

Again, there’s no reason this gets built, but it was a fun idea to me.
