For when you need a lil more time

I count myself extremely lucky to work for an organization that has essentially unlimited sick days. I tend to avoid using sick days as much as possible, as I am really not feeling well.

Other people, like my partner and many of my friends, are less lucky when it comes to sick day policies. Instead of being able to take time as needed, the process is much more stringent and heavily monitored. How does this system flex for people who really need more time to recover? Hint: it doesn’t.

This got me thinking… What if there was a lottery on LinkedIn where you could win a sick day jackpot? You would pay to enter by depositing sick days, but it would be totally optional. On a macro scale, this concept is absurd.

However, within a large enough ecosystem of talent, something like this might just work. It’s crazy, but could be worth a shot.
