Lyft Ambulance

Survive the drive

Happy Tuesday all.

Today's idea will hit especially hard for my fellow Americans that understand how absurdly expensive basic healthcare has become.

A quick Google search informed me that in California an ambulance ride costs $589 on average. However, talktomira.com (it was one of the top results, okay?) told me it is often over $1,200. Either way, it's too much.

But what if there was an option to get an ambulance ride directly from Lyft? Obviously there would be limited demand, surge pricing, and other variables that could make it even more prohibitively expensive.

This was partially inspired by a Tweet I saw last week where an ambulance was called after woman had passed out. When she came to and realized she was about to go for a very expensive car ride, she called a ride share vehicle and got out of the situation.

I digress, if you're not extremely seriously injured a normal Lyft seems like the way to go.
