LinkedIn "Discount Apply"
Get the job by applying for less than salary range
Wishing you all a wonderful Tuesday.
The job market is brutal right now. Layoffs are happening left and right, and some believe AI may pose an existential threat to the future of many white-collar jobs. In fact, OpenAI recently released a report validating this hypothesis.
The unpleasant potential byproduct of this trend is a reduction in compensation. This is truth both in light of a more competitive market and the augmenting of work with AI.
That being the case... what if LinkedIn leaned into this reality and encouraged you to apply for lower pay in order to secure a job? There could be an option to specify the amount you are willing to discount your pay before you continue to the actual application.
May the cheapest candidate win.
