Nest release oil slick

I don’t know what’s happening in Southern California right now, but we are getting a barrage of solicitors recently. As a proud owner of a dog with the most abrasive, ear-shattering bark I’ve ever heard, it is unfortunate to have random people knocking and then standing at your door for five minutes. I may live to see myself buy the “no solicitors” sign.

Typically I check my Nest camera to see who’s at the door, which allows me to avoid answering when someone is trying to sell me solar panels. This got me thinking, what if I could release slime or an oil slick that would trip and deter solicitors from coming to the door (or at least make them trip on the way)?

This isn’t feasible for a million reasons, but for me the most obvious is that I don’t want have to clean my front walkway on a weekly basis. However, some sort of high-pitched sound or alarm bell could be interesting. We will see if the solicitors fall in line with a sign, or if more drastic measures need to be taken.
