Netflix Google Map integration

About 5 or 6 years ago, I had a close friend who told me their day at work consisted of a lot of driving and watching TV. I assumed this meant the office was slow, but they clarified they meant watching while on the road. Initially, I thought they were an outlier, but now it’s clear they were a trendsetter. Upwards of 25% of people report watching content while driving in the last 30 days. Yikes.

This got me thinking. If people are going to start doing this, how can we design patterns that make this behavior less risky? My mind immediately went to an aggressive Google Maps integration that fully splits the user’s view between the show and the map.

To be clear, this is still a bad idea because people would not have their eyes on the road, but at some point,t you have to accept that technology inevitably marches forward, whether we like it or not.
