Netflix recommended shows for "Netflix and Chill"

"What do you want to watch?"

“Netflix and chill” is a term that first entered the cultural zeitgeist in 2009 with a Tweet. By 2015, it started to seriously gain traction. Now in 2023, it’s starting to feel like a dated term. Oh, how time flies.

I may be alone in this, but I don’t think I’ve ever “Netflix and chilled” with someone. If I’m going to watch something, I want to watch it. However, millions of couples across the globe have sat down to "watch a show” with no intention of finishing it.

I wonder if there’s a way we could help those people out… What if we publicly surfaced how many people select a show because it’s ideal for Netflix and chilling? There could be some sort of indicator below the other show metadata to denote this. The question then becomes how this data is quantified. That part I’m not so sure about, but I bet one of you readers could figure it out.

There’s also probably a world where this is just a carousel of shows you see on the home screen. Not a bad idea, though it does take out a little bit of the mystery and spiciness for those who might be “chilling” for the first time.
