Outlook Calendar Transparency Feature

Optimizing meeting schedules and creating greater "transparency"

Halfway through the week. Happy Wednesday.

It seems like we're all locked in a constant battle trying to claw back some of our time from an endless cycle of meetings. At times, people may overstate their busyness in the name of catching a breather. Being in back to back meetings all day can be exhausting.

But what if our calendars were too smart for their own good? What if in our communications with coworkers our availability was fully communicated?

Sure, features like shared Google calendars already do something along these lines, but it's obfuscated behind a few different clicks rather than aggressively communicated. Those few clicks can make a huge differents.

This design was my first foray into looking at the Outlook mobile app (I'm a diehard gmail user). All in all, the app seems pretty... plain? I did notice however that Outlook tends to use lighter grays than gmail does in their mobile app.
