Outlook see when the email was scheduled vs. when it was sent

Work smarter, not harder

As my company grows, I find myself working up the chain. Now, more of my time is spent on leadership, strategy, and communication than anything else. I still push pixels occasionally, but thankfully, we have an amazing team of designers who can run circles around me. Don’t worry—I still design the unhinged UI in this newsletter myself.

A big part of my work revolves around communication. This means constant emailing, reminders to follow up, etc. I switched to Superhuman last year, and it’s been a lifesaver. I’m not going to yap about their product, but one of the things I love is how they’ve designed their scheduling experience.

This got me thinking about scheduled emails. I typically reserve this feature for when I’m working on something late at night and don’t want to disturb people. However, I’m sure some people use scheduled email for more nefarious purposes.

What if there was a label that showed when an email was scheduled? This would alert people who try to delay, misrepresent, or otherwise mess up communications. It would be an absolute nightmare for knowledge workers everywhere. Even for me, a label stating that an email was scheduled at 4 a.m. is just… unhinged.
