Pagerduty contacts loved ones

For all the engineers out there

How is it already Friday again?

Many of you are designers, but some of you are marketers, VCs, or engineers. Whatever the case, you might be familiar with Pagerduty. From what I can gather, this app notifies software engineers of issues when they are "on-call" (yes, on-call like doctors are).

Anyway, Noah gave me the idea that Pagerduty should notify your loved ones if you aren't responding to on-call requests quickly enough.

This idea is horrifying, but it also paints a painful yet real portrait of how intrusive work has become in our personal lives. The clock doesn't stop at 5. In fact, often you're so caught up in meetings and messages that you're only able to get real work done when you should be off the clock.

Regardless, hope none of you are on-call this weekend.
