I get more spam calls than ever these days. It's getting annoying because I have many instances where it's someone I actually need to talk to but I'm scared to pick up because who knows who might be on the other end of the line.

That being said... what if there was an option to screen your phone calls with AI? You could train a voice model pretty easily with Vall-E, it's just a matter of integrating that into the Apple phone app. You could even specify the tone you want your model to use when speaking to whoever is calling.

Pulling on this thread more, you could get a real-time transcription of the call as it happens and choose to intervene at any point. This would actually be useful if you're trying to screen spam calls, but could also go wrong pretty easily if it's someone important. That said, it feels like a pretty natural extension (or improvement) of a lot of existing customer service calls I've been on in the past few years.
