See who's #opentowork on a LinkedIn company page
Making the unspoken extremely spoken
It's Wednesday my dudes people.
For the unfamiliar, LinkedIn has a company page where you can see their follower account, a basic description, information on their stock price (which was new to me), etc. They're continuing to grow the platform and make it easier to look for jobs.
They also added a #opentowork option to add to your profile if you're on the hunt for a new job. This is a cool feature, but I've always wondered who can actually see that label. Not a great signal if you're currently employed.
So what if they simply opened up this information and showed it on a company-wide level? You could get a birds eye view of how many people are trying to leave the company. There's a million problems with this, but I found it interesting to think about what can happen when visibility/feature permissions aren't thoughtfully managed across a product ecosystem.
Shoutout to Ryan for helping me refine this idea.
