Making corporate loyalty visible
Good morning and happy Saturday. I hope you have a relaxing weekend planned.
If you’ve ever started a new job, it can be tough to figure out who else is new versus people who’ve amassed a large amount of domain expertise in the company. This is a rarely discussed but extremely important part of working at largely companies.
This got me thinking… what if there was a way to indicate someone’s tenure at a company and their respective rank? This would be helpful in surfacing who’s been around a while, but the unintended byproduct would be seeing how short the average tenure can be at some companies.
Ultimately the visibility this creates is likely surpassed by the awkwardness of realizing some of the most tenured people at a company have only been there 2 years. It would definitely make things a little more interesting to say the least.
