Slack Deactivation Reasons
If hiring is transparent should firing be transparent?
We're halfway through the week!
I'm guessing we have a split of people who use Microsoft Teams vs. Slack, but today I'm creating a Slack feature (sorry Teams users everywhere).
Currently, when someone is laid off or let go from a role at a company their Slack account is typically deactivated. This means that you can no longer message this person but (I think) some of their activity/messages are retained internally. However, all it says is "This account is deactivated".
What if we provided more visibility into why an account was deactivated?
In the case of the mockup above, Kyle forged expense reports to fund his own vacation. There might be other instances of re-orgs, lackluster performance, etc.
For some people, the social pressure and anxiety this would create might lead to improved performance? A lot of people would be annoyed and quit or petition to move to another communications platform.
