Slack Made with AI Disclosure

Workin hard or hardly working?

Over the past few months, AI has slowly but surely infiltrated more and more aspects of the work I do. From generating documents to consuming them, it is helpful at times to have a digital “thought partner” to ping-pong ideas with, even if it still requires a significant amount of human intervention. The tough thing is that not everyone is as thoughtful about how they use AI. Multiple times in the past few months, we’ve seen messages come through that read as slop prepared by ChatGPT.

This got me thinking about workforce communication tools like Slack. What if there were a way to programmatically detect when something was created with AI? On one hand, this would out a lot of people in the workforce. It would also be helpful as a way to quality check documents that have not undergone human review.

There’s a larger question regarding the merits of creating documents with AI and them being reviewed by the counterparty’s AI, but that’s way too big of a topic to dive into in this newsletter. Another day, I suppose.
