Slack require a response by a certain time or get fired

Focused time to get work done is an increasingly rare commodity. I find myself doing a lot of context-switching these days, and it feels like it eats away at my ability to do my very best work.

However, when you work with people you need to respond. Sometimes issues are particularly urgent and require a response immediately. If this is the case, I guess someone could mention you or DM you multiple times, but I’ve noticed some people are just hard to get ahold of.

What if Slack engineered a solution that made people think twice before not responding? What if you could require a response by a certain time and automatically fire someone if they fail to reply?

First off, this would trigger an all-out white-collar revolt. People would be MAD (and rightfully so). I’m guessing there are certain especially toxic work environments where this would fly though.
