Solve a riddle to reset your password

I recently started trying (key word trying) to play Elden Ring. That game is insanely hard for someone who is not familiar with titles like Dark Souls, which are known for their challenging gameplay.

For me, the challenge began far before I ever started playing the game. I had not logged into my Xbox account in a long time and when prompted to enter my password I was stumped. I tried a few different options, but none worked.

Then I went to reset my password, and I wasn’t able to reset it to a password I had previously used (okay yes I forget my Xbox password a lot). After 10 to 15 minutes of trying different passwords, I was finally able to reset things. It largely took so long because Xbox controllers make navigating a keyboard very, very hard.

This all got me thinking… what if to solve a password you had to do some sort of word problem? In this concept, you have to solve a riddle.

For some, this would make passwords a breeze. Other people would be locked out of their accounts forever. It would also make it very easy to take over other people’s accounts if you happen to be good at riddles.
