Spirit save by rawdogging
Very late to the viral trend

Towards the end of last year, a viral trend called “rawdogging” emerged. People would get on flights with no headphones and stare directly ahead at the flight tracker (if they had one). This confounded millions of people on the internet and turned into a trend. I think the trend has largely petered out, as sitting there watching nothing for 6 hours sucks, but it’s an interesting phenomenon if nothing else.
This got me thinking about selecting flights on airlines like Spirit. You’re presented with a menu of (surprisingly cheap) options. What if you got a discount in exchange for rawdogging a flight?
I’d venture to guess that some people, especially Spirit customers, would do anything save a buck or two, though I think flying Spirit is already quite taxing, even with a phone to distract myself.
I’m trying to wrap my head around a permutation of this that makes sense and am not coming up with any strong justification for implementing this, but if it did get built I’m sure someone, somewhere would use it.
