Spotify Betterhelp integration

Based on your listening behavior, of course

Like with most things in this world, Elliott Smith is good in moderation. However, if you’re listening to this kind of music for the majority of your waking hours… you might be going through something.

Music is powerful. It can motivate and inspire, or it can make you feel deeply sad. I’ve been having a lot of nostalgic moments lately listening to music from my middle and high school years.

I digress, in the past, I’ve had seasons where I get really deep in my own head and listen to music that can be quite sad. In these moments, it might be helpful to have something to point you in a more positive direction.

The more extreme permutation of this would be a partnership where Spotify refers you to a therapist based on your listening history. This will never happen because it’s predicated on assuming certain music will impact everyone in a certain way.

However, this does make me wonder if there are ways to help people who are going through particularly tough times with in-product nudges without feeling overly paternalistic.
