Spotify Christmas Music Cap

The most wonderful time of the year is over. Sure, New Year’s is next week, but the flagship holiday events have already occurred. Now, my neighbors will be setting off fireworks and my dog will lose his mind.

The lull after the holidays is always a bit strange. Starbucks sells leftover flavored coffees, mall decor is taken down, and Christmas music occasionally floats through the air.

This got me thinking about Spotify and when it’s appropriate to switch from Christmas music to something less opinionated. What if they made this decision for you and ripped the band-aid off by disabling music after the holidays until, say, Thanksgiving? I can’t imagine how upset people would get if this existed, but at the same time it’d be helpful to get everyone on the same page as to when Christmas “ends”.
