Spotify confirm you're a fan to listen

I’ve made enough Spotify concepts at this point that I don’t need to yap further about their core offering or the more recent problems they’ve had with AI-generated content flooding their platform or their founder/CEO announcing that he’s stepping down. It’s a solid app that’s been a top performer for over a decade as it transformed the way we listen to and discover music.

This got me thinking about the artists people love (or at least say they love). What if Spotify gatekept music behind trivia questions? If you answer incorrectly, you’re punished by not being able to listen to the artist for a while.

The idea of trivia is actually a fun thing Spotify will likely never invest in. It’d also be difficult to gather consent from artists on what information they want to be broadcasted to their fans. Punishing people for not knowing artists is fairly counterintuitive and would likely upset both artists and fans.
