Square POS say you don't want to tip

I went to a coffee shop yesterday to try and get some work done (my first mistake) and I ended up waiting in a huge line because they were giving away free pour-overs. If I had looked at their Instagram, I would’ve realized this, but of course, I didn’t.

Thankfully, everyone in front of me ended up buying a different item on top of their free coffee so the shop made money. As I was confronted with the tip screen after ordering my cold brew, I started thinking about people who don’t tip.

What if there was a restriction where you had to tell the barista (or waiter) “I don’t want to tip you” rather than there being a digital way to do this?

This would be super gnarly for anyone who hates confrontation, but it’d be a massive win for small businesses. However, default tips are so high in some places this could get awkward.

I don’t think this will ever get built, but it’d be a wild April Fools Day prank.
