Starbucks coffee in bed
DoorDash on steroids
According to one Google search, the average American drinks 3 cups of coffee daily, totaling almost 1,100 cups annually. Are we okay? It doesn’t sound like it.
I like most Americans, enjoy my caffeine. That said, I’m not like most designers who are quite particular about their coffee. Gas station coffee will do just fine if I’m in a pinch. Fancy coffee is wasted on me.
I know some people, however, who need coffee so badly they can’t function without it. They need it to wake up in the morning and throughout the day. This is alarming, but so are many other things.
As I was ordering coffee yesterday I started thinking… what if there was a way to get this as part of a wake-up call? You can imagine a Starbucks fulfillment option where you have coffee brought to your bedside. There could even be an optional upsell where they can wake you up (though most people would be alarmed if a stranger was in their home waking them up, even if they had coffee).
The logistics and cost are likely prohibitive from this feature ever becoming mainstream, but boy would it be wild if they shipped this.
