Starbucks / Spotify Integration

I work some days out of a WeWork near my home. The separation between of home and office is nice, but I also enjoy the flexibility of a remote-first work culture. WeWork perks are great. 24/7 access, a lot of free food, unlimited coffee, etc.

One of the not-so-great things about WeWork is that they have a pre-approved list of music they seem to play. It’s the same playlist every single day and it’s slowly driving me insane. I guess this is why they created noise-cancelling headphones, but still.

This problem is also true of many coffee shops (though local ones are often better at choosing good music).

Thinking about this made me wonder… what if there was a way to integrate Spotify into the Stabucks app so you could DJ your local shop straight from your phone.

On one hand, this would be awesome because you could listen to music you like. However, if other people don’t like listening to Slayer at 6 in the morning it’s gonna get interesting fast. There’s also a question of how you prioritize multiple people wanting to run the music, but that’s only a problem if we reach mass adoption.

Have a friend who would ruin the vibe at Starbucks with this feature?
