Strava Calorie Milestones
See how much you can "afford" to eat
Strava is a cool app. For those who are unfamiliar, you can track your workouts by yourself or with friends if that’s your thing. My mile pace is so bad (the above screenshot is not accurate) that I prefer to work out in private.
I go through seasons of intensely working out and then typically longer seasons where I’m relatively inactive. My wife is great at working out consistently, but she doesn’t have an unhinged UI side project which gives her more free time.
Working out can be demotivating if you look at it from the perspective of caloric burn. You can destroy yourself running to realize you’ve burned off… half a cookie. This got me thinking, what if you were able to quantify that in an app like Strava?
Introducing: Caloric Milestones. You can see how much you’ve burned and even have an option to order food that would offset what you burned through the workout. It’s a bit counterintuitive, yet it would ensure people need to keep working out…
Have a friend who would order a cookie after a run?
