Taco Bell relevant checkout upsells
Would you like to add some toilet paper to your order?
I unabashedly love Taco Bell. I went there twice this week.
Is this unhealthy? Yes.
Am I eating as many volcano tacos as I can before they’re gone? Also yes.
In my youth, my stomach was made of steel. I could eat just about anything and feel absolutely fine the next day. Unfortunately those days are long gone.
As I approach my 30s, eating Taco Bell is something I have to physically and emotionally prepare for. I almost always end up paying the price the next day (and it is 100% worth it).
This led me to think about Taco Bell’s upsells at checkout. Typically, they ask you if you want to add chips and cheese, a cheesy roll up, or another taco to your order. It’s standard practice for any digital commerce experience.
But what if they sold things that were more… relevant to the post-purchase experience? You could buy tums, pepto bismol, toilet paper, or even a good book for when you inevitably need it.
It’s a dumb joke, but also I feel like people would use this.
