Target live stream pick-up orders to "help"

Those bananas right there Anthony

We live by a Target. It’s so close that it’s convenient to drive there, but not close enough to walk. This has driven us into a neverending, vicious cycle of me driving to and from the store to pick up orders made on the app by my wife. We’ve been doing this for 3 years and I don’t think I’ve ever made an order from Target, but I’ve driven there 100 times at least.

Everyone has a slightly different preference when you buy certain products, like bananas. You might need ripe ones, or you’re looking for the more green ones so they can last you a whole week. The reason they need the bananas varies a lot by person. This nuance is lost on someone else grabbing bananas for you.

This got me thinking… what if there was a feature where you could livestream the person picking up your order and tell them when they are choosing the right ones? Alternatively, you could call or text the pickup person with detailed instructions.

Pickup orders already take a few hours to be ready. This feature would make prep time infinitely longer, because people would be calling into to specify which item, add items to their order, and so much more. It’s a nightmare, so I’m sure it’ll never get created.
