Ticketmaster tall people protection upsell
Leveling the playing field, vertically at least
As someone who is 6'6 and a regular concert attendee, I am highly aware of the pain and frustration of people who have to sit or stand behind me at shows. I get a great view no matter where I am, and I feel bad for people who pay good money for a concert but then find themselves staring at the back of a complete stranger.
Given most concerts aren't like Woodstock, you can't just climb up on someone's shoulders to get a better view either. If you have experienced this frustration, I am truly sorry.
Since apps like Ticketmaster are so good at extracting the maximum fees possible from their customer base, it feels like they could make a move to try and alleviate this problem. Adding something like a "tall people protection" feature that lets you ensure no tall person can be in front of you seems like a no-brainer. Maybe there's even a world where some of this fee gets paid forward to the tall person, but I doubt it.
Would you pay for this tough?
