Tinder aging feature
Is age just a number?
Finding people to potentially date has never been easier. However, actually matching with people and building strong romantic ties seems like it’s only getting harder. We’ve arrived at a sort of decision paralysis point where there are too many options in terms of people to date.
I saw this as someone who’s been out of the dating world for 8+ years, but still, it seems rough out there. Apps like Tinder are also heavily skewed towards people who are attractive. Sure, this is the primary thing many people look for when initially deciding whether or not to go on a first date with someone, but it isn’t necessarily the best indicator of whether or not that person will make a great life partner.
With the advancements in generative AI, I started thinking… what if you could use these tools to offer some sort of “prediction” of what that person might look like in 10, 20, or even 40 years? The interesting thing here is that many factors (diet, amount of exercise, sun exposure, etc.) will ultimately shape what we look like as we age, and some people just don’t age well.
Right now the technology is more of a more advanced filter, but still, I do think this would make people think a bit more deeply about other aspects of a person rather than just their looks. Then again, maybe it would exacerbate the current prob
