Tinder bio fact check
Snap back to reality

Social apps have reeled over misinformation for years. This problem seems like it will only get worse with the proliferation of AI-generated content. I genuinely feel for the trust and safety teams currently trying to sift through a mountain of content that pops up daily.
This problem isn’t isolated to social applications. I saw someone recently showing how they used AI to turn themselves into a muppet. Sure, this isn’t necessarily a harmful use case because most people understand muppets aren’t real, but it got me thinking about how people will inevitably use AI to augment the images and profile.
To combat this, what if there were community notes on Tinder? Twitter was one of the first apps in recent history to popularize this, and with the change in the overall rhetoric in the US, other social apps have opted to lean on their userbase to fact-check as well.
Honestly, this could be a good feature. The example I give is unhinged, but the underlying functionality could be quite helpful in the right context.
