Tinder Call Her Dad to Super Like

When are you going to meet the parents?

Happy Monday and welcome back from the weekend.

Yesterday on Twitter my friend Frank tagged me in a post that was blowing up.

Now, I’m not in the business of designing entire apps based on a Tweet. However I do take existing apps and tweak them a little bit.

This made me think about how I could subtly shift the existing UX of Tinder to fit the dad gatekeeping idea. I landed with the image above. It’s a play on the “Super Like” feature. Super Likes are supposed to indicate that you are really interested in a person.

If this is the case, you should have no problem chatting with someone’s parents, right? Giving people the option to preemptively meet your parents is insane but filters out someone who’s not actually serious (or psychotic).

I enjoyed the design process of this one a lot, and it made me realize how transactional many aspects of modern online dating are.
