Tinder emergency date

No I'm not single!

A common trope for anyone who celebrates Thanksgiving is the idea of the perpetually single person that comes to dinner. This is especially true of people who are either attending university or recently entered the workforce. People are usually bad at asking questions, so it’s common to get asked if you’re seeing anyone.

For some people, it’s a painful reminder, but for other’s is just really annoying.

What if there was some way to fix this issue? I feel like I’ve seen instances online where someone will post a Craigslist ad or something to get a Thanksgiving date, but I feel like this could be formalized through an app like Tinder.

Instead of waiting for a match, you could pay to get automatically paired with a random person who is willing to pose as your partner for the holiday. On the one hand, this is pretty unhinged, but on the other, it could be a good way to meet new people and have a place to go on the holidays if you don’t have one. It could also go horribly wrong, but maybe it’s a social experiment worth trying.
