Tinder Hygiene Warnings

Happy Tuesday all.

I’ve done many concepts on dating apps from disclosing you might be related and upselling a DNA test or forcing people to call a prospect’s parent in order to Super Like. Both of these ideas are out of the box, and I want to take it back to something with real utility for the average person going on dates.

Some of us (myself included) are not blessed with inherently wonderful breath. Thankfully this is relatively easy to manage with regular toothbrushing and good mouthwash. Unfortunately, not everyone uses the tools we have so readily available.

What if there was a way to report and disclose on someone’s profile that they have bad hygiene or generally just stink? One could argue this isn’t fair to the person who smells. However, if they were aware it is such a big issue, people would (hopefully) rise to the occasion and invest in improving their hygiene. I’m not sure the pros outweigh the cons of this idea, but if the metric we’re optimizing for is the number of teeth brushed this would likely move the needle.
