Tinder shows when photo was taken

Making Tinder profiles more "up to date"

Happy Sunday all.

I recently realized my headshot hasn’t been updated since 2018. Yes, it’s only been five years, but I think I speak for everyone when I say the past few years have had a fairly dramatic aging effect on me.

This doesn’t bother me too much, particularly in a professional context. However, please hold me accountable to make an update before I turn 30. I don’t want to be the person that ends up catfishing people on LinkedIn of all places.

Somewhere where it’s more important to keep content up to date is on apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge. You want real, current photos on these apps lest you mislead someone. I know some people make this misrepresentation intentionally, but I wonder if there is a way to call out people who need to make some updates.

One way to quickly remedy this problem would be to create a feature on Tinder that calls out if a photo is more than one, five, or ten years old. It’s a bit hostile in its current state, but it would most definitely help provoke people to get some decent, up-to-date photos, don’t you think?
