Twitter Doxx Button

Who are you, really?

Happy Sunday all, hope you’re having a relaxing weekend.

Twitter is riddled with anonymous accounts that have fake profile pictures and handles. On the positive side, this allows people to build a brand apart from their own identity. However, it also creates opportunity for people with handles like “FartDealer420” to say really mean things without consequences.

To resolve this, one potential solution would be a Doxx button that reveals the personal information behind an account. Things like real name, phone number, and email would become publicly accessible. You could vary the price to Doxx based on follower count or some other blend of metrics. There’s no world where this works, but it does call out a need for some sort of reputation or consequence for bad behavior.

Reddit’s karma system is better, but still flawed.
