Uber Eats delay poorly scored accounts
Karma catching up with you

I like to think that I tip well and am generous to rideshare providers, even when the experience is less than optimal. Early in my time using the Uber app, I received a less than 5 star rating from a driver. Any reason why this happened is lost to the sands of time (though I did take a lot of Uber Pools when I was younger in LA). I tip well and try to be timely. Oh well.
To me, the implications of having a bad score become more interesting once food is introduced. Imagine if you will, an experience where the timeliness of your Uber Eats delivery is predicated on your score within the app. People would start treating drivers very, very well.
The dynamic between customers, drivers, and the platform has never been something that’s perfectly optimized, though we seem to have landed in a fairly decent spot. The fatalistic part of me also realizes that autonomous vehicles and machines will likely be delivering all of our food within 5 years, and then having a human bring you something will feel either archaic or elevated, but that’s a conversation for another day.
