Uber Eats repeat orders

The meal so nice I ordered it... 60 times

When you take a moment to think about the logistics involved, it’s a miracle that ordering from Uber Eats or DoorDash isn’t more expensive than it is currently. Your food travels from the source to the manufacturer, the restaurant’s distributor, the restaurant, the driver, and finally, to your home. The modern supply chain is a marvel of human innovation.

However, paying an extra ~$10 for delivery and fees is annoying. Given how unpredictable gig work is, it makes sense that you need to pay a premium. This concept isn’t so much an unhinged experience as the implications on the user are unhinged.

What if Uber Eats offered a repeat order feature where you could save a % if you got the same food daily for a certain time? In theory, this sounds like a win for you and the driver. You get money back and the driver has consistent, reliable work.

However, imagine how your body would feel if you ate Taco Bell 60 days in a row. I experienced something close to this in college and let me tell you, it is not good. That said, some people prioritize savings above health so I could see people opting into this.
