Uber Eats vegetable requirement

Be healthy... or else

They say you are what you eat. If that’s true, I’m some combination of cold brew coffee, beefy 5-layer burritos from Taco Bell, butter chicken, and garlic naan. Somehow, this is what peak performance looks like.

However, from time to time I’ll eat a banana, grape, or piece of broccoli to remind myself what real food tastes like. I should probably alter my diet to be more health-focused, but I say “That’s a future Soren problem” as with many things in life.

Apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash don’t make eating healthy easier. If you are extremely self-disciplined, yes you can find healthy places to order from. However, they typically close much earlier than other stores, and buffalo wings with bleu cheese hit better than a kale salad, there’s no way around it.

Knowing the flaws in the current system, what if Duolingo partnered with governing bodies to follow the fruit and vegetable intake guidance? For example, your Uber Eats order might be disabled unless you have a certain amount of vegetables in your cart.

Realistically, this would cause a public outcry and people would find another way to get their food delivered. However, if there was a positive incentive structure (discounts, streaks, rewards, etc.) you could nudge people towards a healthier lifestyle. Given the current state of affairs, I doubt something like this gets built any time soon.
