Uber Horse

Horses are strange. They played a pivotal role in human transportation for thousands of years, only to be surpassed by cars. Sometimes I wonder if horses miss the days when they were more gainfully employed. Then again, maybe they enjoy not underpinning human transportation. If it’s not obvious, I know nothing about horses.

I do know Uber has a “green” option where you’re able to use an electric vehicle. While this is more environmentally friendly in theory, the reality is that batteries still have adverse environmental effects, especially at scale. What if there were a truly green option, like a horse? Tap a few buttons, and your horse arrives.

Logistically, this is a nightmare for cities. In less densely populated areas, this concept gets interesting. Yes, most people still have cars (or horses of their own), but I think the idea of being able to summon and ride a horse seems pretty cool, even if it was just as a PR stunt.
