Uber option to text for your driver

I haven’t been in an Uber in several months. That’s not a bad thing. I appreciate the utility and flexibility that ridesharing offers, but strongly prefer being able to drive myself or just staying home when possible. I'm not sure if it’s always been this way, but it feels like Uber cars are often dirty, smell weird, or have a strange temperature.

There’s also the issue of your driver texting while you’re on the road. I understand the need to get directions, but to be texting or calling people on the road is a bit more stress-inducing.

This got me thinking… what if you could take over your driver’s phone while riding with them? You could respond to all their texts and take any calls. To be fair, most people are trying to do stuff on their phone, not someone else’s, so this could get to be a bit much.

I don’t see a world where this goes live due to privacy issues, but if it did I assume a lot of people would not like it.
