Uber Student Driver Option

Learning on the job

I vividly remember the days of learning to drive. Fun fact, I actually failed my test the first time around. The second time’s the charm though, right? My solution was to eventually move to California where everyone drives super chaotically anyway. I digress…

One of the worst parts of learning to drive is that you end up spending a bunch of time logging hours in order to qualify for a license. This might not be the case in every state, but it was for me in Colorado.

But what if people were able to get real-world experience while also providing an economic benefit? This led to the design of the Uber Student Driver option. You could save some money on your fare but also take on a little risk by having a new driver take you to your destination.

Part of me thinks this actually might not be the worst idea, thought it would likely be very anxiety-inducing for both the driver and the passenger. For the right duo, it could be great though.
