Weedmaps High Score

Happy 4/20 to all who celebrate. My apologies that today's newsletter is a bit later than usual.

Leaderboards are becoming an increasingly common way to gamify products. It's debatable whether or not we need leaderboards in most products, but the PMs demand ways to boost engagement.

Given the nature of today's "holiday", I wondered if there's a way WeedMaps might build out some sort of profile to measure the number of orders and strains attributed to their leaderboard. The name High Score is obvious and a bit heavy-handed, but it felt right.

Since weed is still federally regulated it's highly unlikely people would want to establish a social graph on WeedMaps. However, if we do enter a world where this constraint is removed this could work as a feature.
