Zillow hide millennial grey

There’s something insidious happening to households across America. Google “millennial grey” and you’ll see what I mean. Basically, it’s a design trend where flippers and real estate developers purchase a property, renovate it, and in the course of doing so completely gut all soul out of the home and replace it all with a sad, generic grey. This is not a new phenomenon, and we may have hit the peak, but if you look at homes on any real estate app, it’s everywhere.

This got me thinking. What if there were an option to hide millennial grey remodels/homes from search results? If platforms took this opinionated of a stance on interior design choices, it would almost certainly influence the behavior of both consumers and the developers making these choices on materials.

To be fair, this is largely based off of cost cutting and a willingness to undercut on quality of finishes, but aesthetically I hate how much we’ve ripped the heart of our homes and want millennial grey to go away, so I’d fully support this existing.
