Zillow landlord reviews

In my early 20s, I lived in some rough spots. One particularly fond memory is when I rented a room in a house where my landlord said we shouldn’t go in the garage because they were “renovating it”. In reality, it was overrun with rats. Very fun.

At their best, landlords are responsive, helpful, and easygoing. However, many landlords aren’t the most generous when it comes to making sure their tenants are taken care of. As long as you pay them, what’s their incentive?

When looking for a new place, it’s easy to find the price and the person in charge of the listing. However, there is often a lack of transparency around whether or not your potential landlord will be a good one.

What if platforms like Zillow added a review feature for landlords that was public-facing? I’m guessing they wouldn’t prioritize this because it would deter rather than attract tenants. However, as a potential renter, I would love to see what people actually think of the landlord.

A man can dream I guess.
